Munshi Mohammad Meherulla (1861-1907):

 

Munshi Mohammad Meherulla was born at Ghop village, near to Baro Bazaar in his maternal house, Kaligonze thana under Ghinaidah sub-division of district on 26 December 1861.His paternal house is at Satiantola village. His father's name is Munshi Mohammad Owares Uddin.

 

Educational life:

He was good at Urdu language and would regularly study periodical papers. He took  tuition from Munshi Taz Mahmud on Urdu and French literature.

 

Preacher of Islam religion :

Munshi Mohammad Meherulla contributed  to preach Islam a lot.He studied different religious books to be perfect in case of religion. He became very much encouraged and benefited after study "Monsurey Mohammodi",Why did i reject my paternal religion? ","Why did  i keep faith in Islam?","Where is real truth?

Munshi Meherulla again preached Islam in different zones of Jashore after coming back from Darziling.

 

Literary Works:

John Jamir Uddin wrote a confusing essay named "Where is authentic Quran? " in monthly paper named "Khiristo Bandhob" in 1892. At that time, Munshi Mohammad Meherulla logically  answered to the essay in weekly paper named "Sudhakor".Then,John Jamir Uddin became convinced after getting the answer. Next,John Jamir Uddin again became converted to Islam from Christian then, he became Sheikh Munshi Jamir Uddin.

Prominent Islam preacher Munshi  Meherulla  is a wonderful and remarkable in case of preaching Islam.

Munshi Meherulla 's first published book is " Khiristo Dhormer Osarota" in 1886.

His second writing is "Meherul Islam" whose language is very easy and understandable to general readers.

 

Munshi Mohammad Meherulla 's writings named "Bidhai Gongona" and " ' Hindu Dhormo Rossho' which achieved huge popularity.

 

Death :

Islam religion preacher Munshi Mohammad Meherulla died on Friday on 7 June 1907 at the time of Jumma Prayer.

 

In commemoration, Munshi Meherulla :

 

A station is established in his village named Satiantola after his death. The station is Meherulla nagar station which is named after his name.Then,postal ticket and memorabilia with his photograph are published by postal department and Munshi Meherulla social welfare association and Munshi Meherulla foundation are formed.

 

 

01) Epic poet Michael Madhusudan Dutt

He was born in Sagordari village, Keshobpur thana under Jashore on 25 January 1824

He died in Calcutta on 29 June 1873.

His achievements are blank verse,Meghonadbodth, Captive Lady,Sharmista, Krisnokumari, Buro Shaliker Gare Row,Tillotoma Sombob,Bringona etc.

 

02) Diligent Munshi  Mohammad Meherulla

He was born in Ghop of Kaligonze under Jhinaidah at that time Jashore on 26 December 1861.

He died on 07 June 1907.

03) Roy Bahadur Jodunath Mazumdar

He was born in Lohagora of Jashore in 1859.

He died in 1932.

He was good at Bengali, English and Songiskrito.

He lawfully  saved people from indigo owner.

He established Jashore Sammiloni(United)  Institute(1889),Jashore Townhall now,Alomgir Siddiki Hall,Welfare press(1899) etc.

 

04) Astronomical Scientist Radhagobindo Chando

He was born in Bagchor village of Jashore on 16 July 1878.

He died on 3 April 1975.

He contributed in astronomy a lot after observation comet in 1910.

French government provided respected epithet and medal named 'Officer of Academic Republiance frencaise) to him.

 

 

05) Journalist  and litterateur Shishir Kumar Ghosh

He was born at Palua Magura village of Jikhorgacha thana under Jashore in 1840.

 

06) Monoz Basu

He was born at Donga Ghata village of Keshobpur thana under Jashore on 25 July 1901.

His writings are 'Ami Shamrat', 'Nishikutombo', ' Nabin Jatra', 'Kingshuk', 'Mayakanna', etc.

 

 

07) Advocate Martyr Moshiur Rahaman

He was born in Singhajhuli village of Chowgacha under Jashore in February 1917.

He died for Country on 23 April 1971.

He was great politician and advocate and he became chairman of Jashore district board  at the age of 32 in 1949.

He was elected as a member of National Council in 1970 and he was elected a member of provincial council of east Pakistan as a candidate of United front in 1954.

 

8) Jotindranath Mukhopaddhi

He was born at Koya village of Kushtia district  in 1879.

He died on 10 September 1915.

 

 

09)Professor Shorif Hossen

He was born at Khorki in Jashore on 01 January 1934.

He was society conscious person.He has great contribution in Jashore Institute.He established Etim Khana(Orphaned House) in1974,Lillah-trust for poor students in 1987,Faceted Social Welfare Association Sandipon in 1994.He has gotten honoured prize as acknowledgement of his works from different social institutions and government.

 

 

10)Striggler Mohammad Belaet Hossen

He was born in Mallikpur village  in 1916.

He died in 1997.

He kept great contribution in case of socioeconomic and political condition especially for Muslims.He established Muslim library.

 

11) Begum Ayasha Sarder ( Leader of woman movement)

She was born in Khanpur village of Bagharpara in 1927.

She died on 16 February 1988.

She established Jashore woman industry ashram in 1942.

she also established many social,  cultural and educational institutions like Jashore Women 's College, Keshobpur Girls School, SS Ghop Primary Girls High School, Jashore New Town Girls School, Hudo Primary and Junior High School, Narikelbaria Girls School, Enayetpur Madrasha.

 

12) Educationalist Abdur Rowuf

He was born at Narayanpur of Mohespur Upazila under Jhinaidah district  on 2 December 1902.

He died for Country on 4 April 1971.

His writings are Pather Dake,Ogro -Setar, Juger Dak,Shadhinater Path,The kal(time) of the Day,Tin Jater Maye,The Happier Humanity.

He also engaged to teaching profession in different educational institutions.

 

13) Owahed Ali Ansari

He was born at Jagonnathpur village of Chowgacha on 15 January 1909.

He died on 22 April 1991.

He is publisher of Gazette Paper and established Muslim Academy and Jashore Homoeopath College and Hospital.

 

14) Mohammad Monirujaman

He was born at Khorki village of Jashore on 15 August 1936.

He is a great researcher in case of Bengali literature. He has some remarkable writings like Prabondhik Anirban,Nirbachito Gan.

 

15) Dhiraz Vottacharge

He was born at Pazia village of Keshobpur in 1905.

He has great contribution in this respect of Bengali literature and film industry.

His 2 remarkable writings are 'Jokhon Ami Police Silam' and 'Jokhon Ami Naiok Silam'.

16) Anawara Soioda Haque

She was born at Churipotti of Jashore on 5 November 1943.

Her remarkable writings are Haltrishita,Shoner Hiron,Tripti,Hathsani,Muktijodher Ma etc.

 

17) Kali Pado Basu

He was born at Horishangkorpur of Jhinaidah in 1865.

He died in 1914.

He has great contribution in Algebra.

 

 

18) Photographer Mohammad Sofi

He was a skilled photographer and a patriot.

 

 

19) Mosharrof Hossen

He was born on 7 March 1925.

He died on 3 February 1974.

He was a lawyer and was a political personality.
