Myth of Dhiraz-Mathin love story is well celebrated in this continent. The hero of this myth, Dhiraz Vattachariya was born in Paziya village of Keshobpur Upazilla of Jessore in 1905. In 1924 he got enlisted in police and later posted in Teknaf, Chittagong. During this period of Chittagong, he got involved in an affair with Mathin, a native girl of Chakma community. He later moved in film industry. His experience as a police and his affair was stated elaborately in his writing “Jokhon Police Chilam”. He had acted in over 200 movies and 50 plays. In Paziya village of Keshobpur, a two storey building built by his ancestors, Paziya High School and a drama theater is still standing as a memory of Dhiraz Vattachariya.
