Details
Mahtab Ray has established the rule of Chanchra kings in Jessore area in 1610. After his death in 1619, his eldest son Kondorpo Roy succeeded him. He reigned for 39 years from 1619 to 1658. The last heir of this family was Gyanodakonth. Some of the ancient ruins of the endeavors of this Chanchra Raja Family are still remaining. Chanchra palace is one of them. It is situated 4 Km southwards of Jessore municipality in Chanchra Union.
