Details

The people of Chanchra village have leaded the way to a silent revolution in fish hatching at Jessore. Fish hatching businessmen of this Chanchra and nearby villages has established 50 hatcheries and 1000 nurseries which returns a yearly income of 200 crore BDT approximately. Apart from the local market, these fish hatchlings are now being exported to Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. At present, nearly 1 lakh people are making their livelihood through this industry. This fish hatchery is situated 3 km south of Jessore municipality.
